An online business is known and remembered by the link address that is either shared on social networks or optimised in search engine results. Regardless of the source, a user visits your website; it is the URL that carries an utmost significance. The users tend to remember URLs of their favourite stores just the way people recognise shops in real life from where they have either purchased something or would like to purchase later.
If you have noticed the shops you regularly visit, where the addresses are explicitly mentioned either on the banners, visiting cards, or shopping bags just to let you remember at least the markets or streets if you forget their business name. The same applies to online businesses.
The URL structure got its importance because it is your virtual address. So, to make your buyers remember your store, or entrust the potential customers that they are roaming around a genuine shop, different strategies are adopted to enhance the URL structure for higher human readability, search engine friendliness, and trustworthiness. A few of them are highlighted in the infographic
